Job's children celebrated "their day" with "banqueting" (NWT says "set day") Job chapter 1 verse 4 which sounds like an anniversary of their birth to me. I'm not aware of a JW explanation saying it isn't a birthday celebration or what else it could be.

It’s Stupid That JWs Wont Recognize Birthdays Yet If A Baby Is Born They Will Give Gifts!
by minimus ina witness can’t celebrate and give gifts on a birthday except on the day they are born.
giving a baby shower is ok as well as gift giving—- but only once!

Lack of love towards local refugees and corruption amongst the elders so they benefitted themselves not the congregation as a whole.

Automatic Donations Introduced Online
by JW_Rogue inthis was announced a couple of weeks ago on the clam.
you can now donate to any congregation, the worldwide work, and assemblies online.
further they have implemented recurring payments "because the hard part about donating is remembering to donate," they actually said that!

How soon before spirituality is measured by the size of your donation?
If God needs your money so bad why doesn't he remind people to give?

Sincere question to those who no longer believe in God
by nowwhat? ini get it, not a fan of yahweh the desert god.
but what about jesus?
anything wrong with his teachings like the sermon on the mount and the example he set.

Jesus believed in the flood story. If he were truly God's son, divine, came down from heaven etc he would have known it was a myth and corrected those who believed it......or he lied about it. Whichever is right he was wrong so I don't believe he was anything more than an ordinary man.

When You See A JW Approaching What Are Your Thoughts?
by minimus ini used to get a weird feeling in my stomach when i would see a witness approaching.... almost a sense of dread.
now, i really don’t care.
i have even made it a point to do the approaching when i see a witness trying to convert an ignorant person..

I used to feel sick and shaky when I saw them. I rarely see any I recognise now so not sure how I would react if I met one I used to know. I can talk to ones I don't know at my door no problem now.
I would greet any from my past and not mention the JW thing and treat them like "a normal person". If they brought it up (you know they would lol) I would just say I haven't been to meetings for a while and change the subject. I hope I am well past the feelings of sick and dread after 9 years of abstinence.

No one single big aha moment but seeing lots of "unchristian like" and un loving behaviour that stayed in my mind and niggle away making me dissatisfied.
The first apostate website I stumbled across showed the plagiarized images and mentioned Jimmy Swaggart.
I faded and now 9 years later they've forgotten I ever existed.
